As I explained in my previous post, I’m *really* into florals for spring, but I’m trying to find pieces that have a unique spin on the traditional flower pattern and this bow front blouse fits the bill.
It has a really unique color palette of ivories and yellows with a babydoll fit and large bow at the waist.
It’s incredibly flattering! It also closes with 2 buttons in the back, leaving the rest of your back open to the breeze. This is an on-trend feature but wearing a bra can be tricky so I’d recommend stick-on petals for this blouse.
Unfortunately I cannot find this blouse on Forever 21’s website anymore (bummer!) BUT I was recently at my local store and saw it there. I did link a similar style with the exact same print. Shop that below!
I paired this admittedly sexy blouse with…cargo pants! Maybe not something someone would associate with a “sexy/date night” type of blouse but these pants are SO flattering and fun and a great alternative to denim. They have great details and look way pricier than they are. I linked these exact pants below!
My husband and I shot this look on the roof of our building and every time we’re up there we both agree we don’t enjoy it enough. Such a beautiful spot!
SHOP THIS LOOK:
I’m really excited to share this post today because THIS DRESS! This dress.
Y’all, it’s under $30! Do you have Amazon Prime? It ships free in 2 days! You can have it before Easter!(!!!)
I saw this dress on one of my favorite bloggers and when she posted it on instagram I was actually at a hockey game (of course I was) and when I clicked the shopping link to purchase it (at the hockey game, of course) I could not believe it took me to the Amazon site! Of course I have Amazon Prime (never buy anything without checking to see if it’s on Prime first!) so it’s safe to say I “one-clicked” that baby into my cart as fast as I could!
There are several other color combinations but this one is just gorgeous for spring. And y’all the details on this dress are SO GOOD. It buttons alllll the way down, with a flattering smocked detail at the waist. You can button this dress all the way down (as I did) for a perfectly appropriate Easter dress, or unbutton it a little to show some leg! The fabric flows beautifully and the colors are so vibrant and rich. It has a cute little tassel detail at the waist also which you know I love!
In my family we always dressed up for church, and Easter was no exception. That’s carried over into being an adult for me. I fondly remember pretty floral dresses and bows in my hair.
I’m only 5’5 but this dress was the perfect length. If you’re wearing heels it may be a little short depending on how tall you are.
I can’t wait to wear this beautiful dress on Easter but might even use it as a swimsuit cover up after that! Or how cute would it be to unbutton the buttons enough to make it like a long tunic top over denim cutoffs? Swoon! I just fell in love with it all over again.
If you’re a last minute shopper and NEED something for Easter, click the link below to shop this baby asap! If you hurry you’ll have it in time for Easter with free shipping!
Go go go!
Let me know how you’d wear this, and if you love it as much as me!
Today I’m sharing this bright floral look that I will be obsessing over all spring!
This top makes me happy just by looking at it – when I spotted in the store I knew it had to come home with me. It checks off all my “so Blair” boxes: 1. it’s bright pink 2. It’s a punchy floral that gets noticed! (Bonus: it has tassels too!)
This top is more of a “babydoll” style and fits loose all over. I tucked the bottom in a bit to give it a little more shape, but I bought my true size so I could also tuck it into my pencil skirts to make it work appropriate. I also see this top with cutoff shorts for the hottest days of summer!
hahaha. But really. Florals may be “nothing new” but they’re always reimagined and I love the unique graphic nature of this particular top. Old Navy doesn’t always get it right, but they hit a homerun with this one!
This print also comes in a cute ruffle tank and a plus-size dress!
Bright prints aren’t just a favorite outfit piece, but also a major part of my everyday life. Lately I’ve had several people message me about my attitude towards life…which sounds strange to say, but it’s true! And beyond the people who actually asked me how I stay so happy and upbeat, I’m sure there are others that are like :enter rolling eye emoji: at everything I post on social.
The truth is, of course I have my own problems and issues, but over the last year or so I’ve shifted the way I look at things that used to make me fall apart. Staying positive is not only a way of life for me, it’s the only way I feel I can really be successful in life. I decided to share the top 5 ways I try to stay positive each day, in the hopes that you can adapt some (or all!) of these things into your daily routine. And if you have any tips for me, please let me hear them!
1. Turn frustrations into Opportunities
-I have about a 30 minute commute to and from work each day, and sometimes with traffic I end up spending over an hour in my car each workday. I used to let traffic get me so worked up by the time I got home I was NOT a fun person to be around. Finally I just realized that the traffic was going to be there anyway, so I had a choice: I could let it put me in a terrible mood, OR I could make the most of it. Now on the way to work each morning I listen to an inspirational devotional that kicks off my day on the right foot. And on the way home? I usually listen to my favorite music, or sometimes take that time to call a friend or family member and catch up. Other times I plan conference calls during my commute home! Might as well be productive while you’re sitting on the highway, right?
2. Be mindful of what you let into your brain
-Think about watching scary movies. If you watch them right before bed, you’re probably going to have a terrible dream about a flesh eating alien. Why? Your subconscious is thinking about all that craziness. On the same note, putting mean spirited/hateful/ugly things into your head does not make for a positive outlook on life. If you’re constantly around negative people, you’ll start being negative, too. If you’re constantly looking in the mirror thinking you’re anything less than perfect, eventually that is all you will see in yourself. Our brains are amazing, but they eventually repeat what they hear the most!
3. When everything is wrong, find something that’s right
-Look, bad days HAPPEN. It stinks when they do, but they do! Just because you live a positive life does not mean you’re naive to life’s problems and unfortunately it doesn’t mean you won’t have your fair share of conflicts in life. Choosing to live with a positive mindset just means you’re not going to let the bad things take over your brain. This applies to big and small things, and I say it with experience: I’ve been on a dream vacation one minute and in the ICU the next. And yes I cried and said “why me!?” more than once. But I never stopped seeing the good things about life, either. Even then! (Like the awesome nurses who ordered me pizza every night in the hospital because I wouldn’t eat anything else!) If you can be positive during the not-so-great times, the good times will be magnified 10x. Promise. Also, magnify others strengths, not weaknesses. This is about being a light to others as well as for yourself! You never know who needs your light the most, and we truly have NO IDEA what others are going through. So just be kind to each and every person you meet. Find the good, even when it’s hidden.
-I’m a true believer in the power of prayer and y’all, Jesus has shown His favor on my life every single day I’ve been here on this earth. The power of prayer changes things! But even if you are not particularly spiritual, meditating on positive thoughts and breathing deeply really does help. Think about this: is this problem going to matter in: 5 minutes? 5 hours? 5 days? Will this be a big deal next week? Next year? How can I solve this problem so I’m not anxious about it anymore? Clear your mind of negativity and that voice that tells you to panic, and turn it around. Yes it is hard sometimes.
5. Stop finding your worth in what others think
-This is a BIG one for me. It’s not to say I don’t care that others like me, find me valuable, find me funny, or like my outfits. Of course I do. Everyone loves to be liked. No one will honestly tell you they don’t care that others don’t like them. And you should always aim to be a kind, generous, loving, giving person of excellence around everyone you meet. What I mean by this is, be your authentic self, and know that it’s ENOUGH. People will talk about you. It’s so much more about them than you. Distance yourself from people who make you feel bad about yourself; they are not true friends. Love yourself first and treat people the way you’d want to be treated. If they do not treat you the same, that’s ok too. Because you find your worth in yourself, not in what others think. If people talk badly about you, especially about things like your looks/outfit/laugh/work ethic/hair color/political party/etc, it’s most definitely their own insecurities, and really not about you at all. This belief has literally changed my life. I know who I am, and I love who I am. And if not everyone sees how awesome I am, that’s on THEM!
Please please share your tips and tricks for staying positive in the comments below! I’d love to hear!

Thank you so much for reading! Love you all!
Love & Light,
Happy Monday, friends! The beginning of another great week is ahead of us! There’s nothing I like better than starting my week out on the right foot by wearing an outfit that I really love. It gives me a confidence boost and helps me get. things. done!
I wouldn’t wear today’s look to the office, but looking at it sure does put me in a good mood! If you’ve been following fashion trends recently, you know [pretty much] everything from the 70’s, 80’s AND 90’s is fair game again! I almost died when I saw all the platform shoes on runways and in stores right now. Cher and Dionne would be SO excited! [Always a good day when I can reference my fave movie of all time. As if!]
The great thing about interjecting pieces of what’s on-trend with classic pieces: it doesn’t feel so much like you’re wearing a costume! It’s a great way to mix personality and trend, and I find that’s what suits me best usually, as opposed to wearing a trend from head to toe.
A great example of that is today’s look: I paired the floral blouse (on trend), with a classic A-line faux suede button down skirt (classic/on trend), in a rich neutral (this green is everything), with shoes and a clutch from last spring (fringe + tassels still very on trend this season) in a classic nude shade, which instantly makes both pieces more “classic” and a little less “trendy”.
Personally I love floral prints and I’m so happy to see stores filled with them for spring and summer. I’m really excited about what’s happening in fashion right now and am so glad I have this forum with which to dish all about it!
You can shop similar pieces below, the top is still available, the rest of the items are very similar dupes!
ACTUAL: BLOUSE/Express SKIRT/Nordstrom Rack SHOES/Sam & Libby for Target CLUTCH/Charming Charlie NECKLACE/Charming Charlie
Today’s post is one I’ve wanted to show for awhile! Only problem was, I didn’t have the right dress. (Thank goodness for spontaneous trips to Target at 9:30pm!) Here’s a quick backstory: a few months ago Cathy (“Poor Little It Girl”), an amazing fashion goddess whom I’ve adored for years, posted a look that included an absolutely stunning burgundy floral dress she wore to a wedding that also stuck out because it was from Abercrombie & Fitch. I don’t tend to think of A&F when I think formal wedding guest attire, but she killed it in this dress (see her look here), and since then I’ve been on the hunt for something similar. Her post was last September and the look screamed fall colors, but the level of my obsession with that dress was so real I decided whenever I found something I considered comparable I’d have to post it.
Well, VOILA! Meet my 9:30pm-we’re-here-for-water-and-yogurt Target find! In the CLEARANCE racks, of all places! I’d actually (sort of) forgotten I was looking for something burgundy with a floral pattern until I saw this and my obsession forced me to place it ever so gingerly into my giant red cart. Oh, and it was $13. Thirteen dollars!!
Another part of this look I have to mention are these accessories. This bag. Oh, all the heart eye emojis for this bag. It is similar (very similar!) to a Chloe bag I absolutely love..that’s also $1300. This one I spotted on Nordstrom’s website for $36…but it was sold out. I was in Nordstrom last week and lo and behold I found the exact bag! Moral of this story is, go check the store even when the site says “not sold in stores”. I see you Nordstrom!
These shoes are also available at Nordstrom, like pretty much these exact shoes. Same shade of nude/blush, same grommet details, same awesome lace-up look. Except they’re $99, which is not horrible but it is when you find these for $30 😉
When pieces have lots of “trendy” things about them, it’s always my motto to see where you can find it for less. These shoes are amaze but how long will I truly want to wear them? I’d hate myself much less for wearing $30 shoes for a few months than spending $100 on them and shoving them to the back of my closet. This dress has a very 70’s vibe which is a big spring/summer trend this year, and of course florals always tend to remind me of spring, even though they’ve been big all year!
It’s all about balance. My purse and shoes were more than my dress in this case, but none were over $50! My hat is old, my dress was on clearance, my lipstick is drugstore. People often ask me how I put outfits together and it’s really just collecting items until something clicks. I bought this purse last week, the shoes a couple weeks before that, and the dress 2 days ago. But as soon as I bought the dress, it all went “CLICK” in my head. And here we are!
I couldn’t find this dress on Target’s website but check out your clearance racks for it! I linked similar versions below, along with a link to my exact shoes and purse (the purse is currently sold out online but if you love it try the store!)
